At Home Style
Shoes off, bra off, hair up - lounging around the house doesn't exactly conjure thoughts of stylishness, yet we all know that dressing well correlates with feeling more productive, in control and confident.
So when you're in isolation and only shuffling from bed to couch, to kitchen, how do you dress in a way that makes you feel motivated and put together, even if you're not leaving the house and not seeing anybody other than your immediate family members?
Here's my guide to keep you inspired with a few ideas for dressing comfortably yet stylishly at-home.
> Leggings are a fabulous staple that can be paired with literally every upper item you own and can be worn to look both comfy and fashionable, depending on what you pair with them. I'm a fan of Lorna Jane high rise tights. Not only are they figure flattering with extra abdominal and thigh support, they're snug fitting, uber comfy and can be worn for fitness, at home activities and lounging.
> Kimonos are the perfect billowy throw over, that will not only add a bit of colour and texture to your outfit, but is the ultimate in comfort and a touch of style.
> Bralets are awesome for those of us who still need booby support but don't necessarily want the unnecessary cling of underwire.
> Jeggings, much like leggings but with more of a skinny jean look, will give you support and that denim look that pairs so well with all your top options. Perfect item to slouch around the house in, without the need for belts, buttons and zips.
> Over sized cardis and sweatshirts are always a good option for days on the couch. Throw them on over you tights or jeggings and maybe add an accessory or two to complete the look.
> Slouch trousers don't have to look frumpy. Remember it's all about HOW you wear your clothes, so side tuck in a cute top, roll your trousers up at the ankles. Think of ways to add a bit of an edge to your draw string pants.
Above all, comfort is key! There's no point in wearing tight, restrictive garments such as belts, super skinny jeans and the like. Opt for items that are versatile, comfortable, well fitted and cosy, that will allow you get around the house with ease.
