Any over-thinkers in the house? Apart from me?

Yup, me ✋🏽 My name is Shadan and I am an over-thinker.

There really should be a support group for us lot.

It's a tough gig but I've been working on it, because frankly, it does me NO favours to allow heavy, muddled, unnecessary thoughts to circle in my head.

If you can relate, read on . . .

I'm generally a super positive person. But I found that certain situations and circumstances, no matter how I tried to manage them, would get the better of my mood and just quash all my good vibes.

I decided I needed to learn how to focus on the positive in these situations and manage them more effectively so that I wouldn't be left emotionally battered when I couldn't avoid them.

Because we're always going to find ourselves in company, circumstances, places, moments that we just aren't cool with - it's how we deal with our own emotions and behaviour in those moments that matter.

So I begun forging ahead with a "good vibes only" mantra.

And this came about purely because I was just no longer willing to allow negative thoughts to take up any more real estate in my head.

In all honesty, I just decided to get out of my own way! To recognise that I'm too focused, happy and capable to allow the stuff that weighs me down to control me.

I decided not to settle for anything less than what I deserve.

And just like that, by ditching the negativity and rewriting the rules, I'm courageously manifesting power over my own life, my own thoughts, fearlessly and unapologetically.

And you can too.
