Consciously developing self respect is the foundation of self love and self care.

We all need reminding from time to time what it means to give ourselves respect.

This list offers examples, but it is by no means exhaustive.

It can also include refusing to be drawn into other people's negativity, cutting ties with people who are narcissistic and controlling, setting strong boundaries around people who are energy vampires, preserving your energy, saying “no” to unreasonable or uncomfortable requests, respecting your limits, having clear rules in your relationships, refusing to settle for less than you're worth, not compromising your values in favor of social acceptance.
