Knee-High Boots

Whether it's a high-heeled fashion boot or a warm and comfy casual style, every woman's wardrobe should have at least one pair of basic boots in classic black, but they can pack a real punch in bright colours and prints.

Depending on the boots you choose, everything from skirts to jeans can look fantastic with them. Tall boots with a low heel, for example, are a great choice for both casual and dressy occasions.

Leather or suede, flat or stiletto heels, knee-high boots aren't uber versatile. Pull them on over skinny jeans or leggings, style them with a midi skirt that falls below the top of the boot.

Knee-high boots are a great footwear option for pairing with your mini dresses and skirts when transitioning into the colder months. Match the hemline with the top opening of the shoe, and top off with an oversized coat. Even when layered under longer silhouettes, a pair of brightly coloured knee-high boots look fantastic.

TOP TIPS :

> Knee-high boots look best when fitted well. Look for styles that hug the ankle and calf and don’t bag or sag. Thicker or wider heels or wedges can help balance out larger calves, whereas slim calves can be disguised with details like buckles or straps that draw attention away from the calf. Boots that tie are also a good option, as they can be cinched in to fit thinner calves. For shorter women, look for boots that have a higher heel or wedge to elongate the leg. You’ll also find that rounded or pointed toes will also help elongate, so steer clear of boxy or square-toed boots.
